it has been ages

Yes I know it has been ages since I have posted. but I have been so busy. I have work now in Zohar Gallery at Mt Maunganui. It looks so cool in the shop. Been busy drawing as well. Just not so good on the writing. Got a few weeks up my sleeve before I have to hand in.

Break is over

In a momentary lapse I have had to take a small break because of the amount of work that needs to be covered at the moment. However I have been working on finding resource images for the most recent development of my work. Which is focusing on the relationship between the human, female character and the animal within my chosen folk tales. So far the focus is on the wolf and the bear. I am also looking at the swan. This is because I am looking at the tales of "Little Red Riding Hood", "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" and the "Eleven Swans". The artist i am looking and using for this influence is Kiki Smith. I have also started to look at photographer Miwa Yangi.
I am having a hard time in actually started the process of drawing up the ideas, probably because I have had a hard time recently with formulating my ideas and making them coherent.
Oh well, saw my neighbour the other day with her cute dog poppy wearing a dress. That put a smile in my face and cheered me up.

I have decided to start a blog as part of my documentation of Masters. My study is focused on retelling European folk tales through drawing. At the moment the focus is on the relationship between the talking animal motif and female character within the chosen tales I am drawing.
This is all very new to me. Right now I need to be very focused on my art as well as the written component. And it is the written part that I am struggling with.
Oh well, it's a beautiful day and I will do my best. At least I got this started today.
